Riverforks

Location

Riverforks neighborhood is located in central London, between Horton Street and Riverside Drive. It’s nestled in the Thames River, right where it forks out and is just to the very West of downtown. In fact, it’s within walking distance to downtown London, making it a great location for young professionals working there. It’s also located just a short distance from Wortley Village.

Neighborhood

This very small neighborhood is a beautiful place to live, being cradled by where the Thames River forks out, it has incredible river and green views. It has bike paths that lead to Springbank Park, downtown London, and up to the University, which is great for those who enjoy a healthy active lifestyle. As it’s within walking distance to downtown, it can be an economical choice for people who enjoy nightlife in downtown and don’t want to spend money on cab rides.

This neighborhood is mostly made up of single detached homes with some duplexes, and triplexes in there as well. These homes were mostly built in the 19th and early 20th century. There are even a few small businesses within Riverforks. One of the great things about Riverforks is the fact that they have their own neighborhood community association, which means a tight-knit community where people who want to can be involved.

Amenities

One of the biggest amenities of Riverforks is its location to downtown. You’re always just a walk away from incredible restaurants like The Tasting RoomHunter and CoLos LobosThe Church Key, and Toboggan. Nightlife in downtown is always hopping, whether you’re looking for something sophisticated like The Wine Bar and Milo’s Beer Emporium, something more casual and laid back like Chaucer’s Pub or the Poachers Arms, or something packed and full of people to meet like Lavish and Joe Kools, you’ll find something to suit your tastes. Downtown London is also a great spot for Entertainment. You can catch a play at The Grande Theatre, catch a Knights game at the Budweiser Gardens, or catch a movie at Imagine Cinemas in the Citi Plaza mall. Of course strolling along downtown London is a great way to see all of the unique shopping boutiques.

Another great amenity of Riverforks is the beautiful parks: River Forks Park, Greenway Park and Ivey Park. Each of the three parks close by follow the Thames River, giving them gorgeous views. Not only that, but the Thames Valley Parkway has a bike path that connects all of the parks and even goes to Springbank Park, Downtown London, and up to the University. So summer days can be spent bicycling around London, enjoying breaks and picnics in the parks. The River Forks Park, which is located in the middle of the neighborhood, has a play structure, swing set, community garden, views of the river, picnic spots, bike paths, and walking trails.

Families will enjoy the fact that the London Children’s Museum is right in the Riverforks neighborhood, as well as the fact that the Boys and Girls Club of London isn’t too far away either. The Thames Pool at Thames park is also close by and is a great place for families to enjoy physical activity together.

Lastly, Wortley Village is close by to Riverforks, which means Black Walnut Bakery CafeRoll Roll, and the annual Gathering on the Green event are close by.
