Manor Park

Location

Manor park is located in the Southwest corner of the core of London. It’s right off of Wharncliffe, between Emery street and Elmwood Place. The beautiful environmentally protected and significant area of The Coves cradles the neighborhood. Manor park is a less than 10 minute drive to the core of downtown, making it a great location for busy professionals and for those who enjoy a healthy nightlife.

Neighborhood

Post-WWII style bungalows make up most of the homes in the area, although people are starting to tear down some of the homes and build newer and more modern houses in the neighborhood. There are also a couple of apartment buildings and some townhouses that are sprinkled throughout the area as well. There are a lot of restaurants, shops, and businesses along Wharncliffe and a convenient shopping plaza at Wharncliffe and Baseline. Manor Park is a friendly neighborhood that is favored by dog owners as it has lots of beautiful green space and Environmentally Significant Areas that are protected by the city, ensuring that they’ll never be torn down to be built on. People in this neighborhood area often seen out walking their dogs or strolling through the beautiful walking paths. While the area is close to commercial areas, it’s a relatively quiet neighborhood.

Amenities

One of the most popular amenities of living in Manor park is its proximity to downtown London. Anything from seeing an event at the Budweiser Gardens and grabbing some drinks with friends at any of the great bars or pubs, to catching a play at the Grand Theatre and strolling through Victoria Park on your way to shop at local boutiques, downtown London is a great place to spend your evenings and weekends. Not to mention the fact that it has a large number of incredible restaurants.

Of course the other draw to this area is the nature. The Coves have a beautiful lookout area with stunning views, gorgeous walking trails, a hill that is great for tobogganing down in the winter time. Murray Park is an incredible place to take the family. It has a wading pool, a soccer field, a tennis court, a play structure, a swing set, and lots of beautiful and open green space, which would be a great place for a picnic and a game of catch.

Manor park is close to a couple of shopping districts, and is close to a great number of businesses and restaurants along Wharncliffe, making it an incredibly convenient location. If you need to get your oil changed or tires swapped, there are lots of great mechanic places along Wharncliffe. Dog owners will love the fact that two animal clinics are even within walking distance of his neighborhood.

For everyday errands and household shopping, Shoppers Drug MartNo FrillsDollarama, banks, Style 360, and Giant Tiger are all in the area.

For those looking for delicious eats, you’ll love the variety of really great local restaurants in this area: Craft FarmacyLittle PandaThe SpringsThe Riverdale Family RestaurantFatty PattysFancy Tarts, and Bondis. Of course there is also a McDonalds, an A&W and a Dairy Queen if you prefer fast food feasts.

For those who love local craft beer, Storm Stayed Brewing Co. is right in the neighborhood and is a great place to have a delicious beer or pick some up to go. The Beer Store is right on Wharncliffe as well. And for those who love having some drinks and playing pool, Strokers is a great place to hang out.
