Trails at Wye Creek

Location

Welcome to Trails of Wye Creek! A brand new up and coming subdivision in the village of Thorndale, Ontario. Located only 20 kilometres north of Downtown London, Ontario, this neighbourhood is an inviting, family-friendly subdivision. It offers the perfect blend of affordability, housing options and access to green spaces, shops and schools. Thorndale provides easy access to the entire southwestern Ontario region via the 401 and 403. Downtown Kitchener is less than a hours’ drive west, and if you travel the same distance east, you’ll find sandy beaches and the warm waters of Lake Huron at Pinery Provincial Park.

Neighborhood

This sprawling, 300-lot, 100-acre residential development is being developed by longtime local farmers Pat and Jane Elliot, who are working with a hand-picked team of builders to create a community that fits seamlessly with the small-town spirit of the area. Planning started back in 2002, and the ground-breaking ceremony was held in 2009. Since that time, the Elliot’s have taken care to develop the community in a responsible, thoughtful way that focuses not on building houses but growing a neighbourhood. Housing options here range from large estate homes to semis and detached houses, as well as maintenance-free 2 and 3-bedroom condominiums. All of the homes have been designed to fit seamlessly into the natural environment and help create a strong sense of community among the residents here. There’s plenty of green space that includes walking trails and ponds, making the Trails of Wye Creek a smart choice among homebuyers who want to enjoy the best of country living without compromise!

Amenities

For a small village, Thorndale has a lot to offer. To start with, the West Nissouri Public School is one of the newest elementary schools in the Thames Valley, while the Thames Centre Volunteer Fire Department works tirelessly to keep residents safe. The Thorndale Optimist Club provides funding for a variety of local projects including the local splash pad, skate board park, and children’s playground, while the Thorndale Lions Club is responsible for the maintenance of the local community center. The Lions have also established the local Medical Center that includes a clinic and pharmacy. There’s also a well-maintained municipal library in Thorndale, and the Thorndale Ball Diamonds are always a popular place to meet friends and neighbours on those long summer evenings. Shops in the village include a hardware store, bank, and library, and there’s even a spa when you need to kick back and enjoy some pampering. Each year, this small community hosts one of Canada’s longest-running fall fairs – the Thorndale Fall Fair, where locals and visitors alike enjoy agricultural exhibits, a midway, games, and live entertainment.
