Ridgeview Heights

Location

Ridgeview Heights is a small Northeast London, Ontario neighbourhood. It boundaries go from Highbury Ave to Briarhill Ave and from Huron Street up to the forested area near the Thames River. The location allows residents to enjoy the benefits of country living while remaining in proximity to roads that provide access to the rest of the city as well as essential amenities. The location is tucked away from the city centre, allowing residents to have their privacy. 

Neighborhood

There is no shortage of variety in Ridgeview Heights. It boasts a ton of opportunity for first-time investors, families looking to upsize on a budget, and those looking for a starter home. The average list price of homes in Ridgeview Heights sits at the low to mid $300,000s. Options are endless for types of homes, ranging from single family homes, fully renovated two-storey houses, and four-level side splits to townhouses, detached condos and apartment buildings. Most of the homes were built around the 90s. The streets are lined with beautiful, mature trees. 

Ridgeview Heights falls within the boundaries of the Northeast London Community Engagement, which is a volunteer group that encourages and celebrates a strong community bond within Northeast London. They organize gardening, walks, crafts, and so much more. 

Schools

Students in the area have plenty of elementary and secondary schooling options. London is also home to two renowned postsecondary institutions. Western University and Fanshawe College are conveniently located in the city, providing students with a great deal of opportunity for continuing education. Students of Fanshawe College will love the fact that Ridgeview Heights is close by to the school.

Amenities

There is a great shopping plaza right at the corner of Highbury Ave and Huron Street. It’s close enough that it’s within walking distance for most of this small neighborhood. Within this plaza is Talize Thrift Store, Fit4Less, Shoppers Drug Mart, banks, Giant Tiger, Walmart, No Frills, UPS store, and some fast food restaurants. There is also a London Public Library close to this plaza, which is a great amenity for families. 

There is another great shopping plaza close by, just down the street at Huron and Adelaide Street. At this plaza there is, Metro, FreshCo., the Beer Store, LCBO, Shoppers Drug Mart, gas station, banks, Home Hardware, United Supermarket, The Wine Shop and Goodwill Bookstore & Donation Centre. There are also dining out options such as Subway, Tim Hortons, Merla Mae Ice Cream Ltd., Cora’s, Marino’s Restaurant and Bar, King’s BBQ etc. 

Masonville Mall is the most significant shopping district in the city and only a ten-minute drive away from the neighbourhood. Household names such as Swiss Chalet, Lululemon, Roots Canada, The Keg Steakhouse & Bar, Loblaws, PetSmart, SilverCity Cinemas, Hudson’s Bay Company and much, much more. 

There are a number of great parks and green spaces around this area. There is a wooded area that goes up to the Thames River that cradles the North end of Ridgeview Heights. Meander Creek Park has lots of beautiful green space with picnic tables and benches and is close to the Thames River, which makes it great for nature walks and fishing. The Kilally Valley is also close by. It has over 10 kms of trails and is the perfect place for a family hike. For a park with a playground, Ed Blake Park is close by and has a playground, spraypad, soccer field, and a basketball court.
