Northridge

Location

Northridge is located in the northeast end of London, Ontario. Its boundary lines are from Adelaide Street to Highbury Avenue and from Fanshawe Park Road down to the Thames River line. This large neighborhood is highly residential with some schools, a few conveniences tucked in, and the south end covered in wooded area and beautiful views of the river. 

The proximity to essential amenities, schools and nature trails makes this area attractive to first-time home buyers, as well as growing families looking for a forever home. While this location is tucked away from the busy city centre, it is always full of life and undergoing new developments. There are plenty of LTC bus stops throughout the neighbourhood, ensuring residents are connected to the rest of the city. 

Neighborhood

The housing options in North Ridge include affordable old and new single-family homes, condos, and townhouse complexes. There are both fixer-uppers and well-maintained homes for sale in this area. Because of this, the market of buyers in Northridge widely varies and most buyers can find something suitable for their price range within the neighborhood. The majority of the homes were built in the early 1960s through to the late 1970s. Most streets are full of mature, fully grown trees and greenery which significantly increases the appeal to buyers. 

Schools

Northridge is a great location for families with small children as there are options for schooling, and many of them fall right within the boundaries of this neighborhood: AB Lucas, St. Mark Catholic Elementary School, and North Ridge Public School. There are also many pathways throughout the neighbourhoods making it an easy trek for students who are old enough to walk to and from school.

Amenities

Northridge is an incredible residential neighborhood that has plenty of green space and opportunities for residents to live healthy active lifestyles and is within very close proximity to many great amenities including shopping, restaurants, and more. 

For parks within the neighborhood the Fanshawe Optimists Little League Park is great for families with young kids. There is plenty of green space for throwing around a ball or playing frisbee. This park also has a beautiful playground with slides and swings. Dalkeith is another park that little kids will love, as it too has a play structure, green space, a swing set, and walking paths. The Kilally Meadows are at the South end of the neighborhood and follows the Thames River. It has beautiful walking trails and is great for family hikes, bird watching, and general enjoyment of nature. There are also a lot of great parks close by to the neighborhood, so families can always find a great place to head to in the warmer months and stay active and healthy. 

The intersection of Fanshawe Park Road and Adelaide Street is home to a small commercial plaza and is full of great amenities for Northridge. Here, residents can buy groceries at the Sobey’s and shop for other essentials at Rexall Pharma Plus and Home Depot. There is also gas stations, banks, Popeyes, Starbucks and Tim Horton’s directly in the area. 

There are a number of great amenities in and around the neighborhood as well, such as Tin Cup driving range, Waltzing Weasel Pub, a children’s dentistry, Smiley’s Pizzeria, churches, Jay’s Garden, convenience stores, car dealerships, and Johnny’s. 

For further shopping, residents can head just six minutes west down Fanshawe Park Road to CF Masonville Mall. This is a huge commercial district for the city of London and offers almost all essential amenities. From shopping to dining and entertainment, this is undoubtedly one of the best areas to shop in London – and only a six-minute drive from Northridge.
