This small neighborhood made up of small, curvy residential roads is located in the Northeast end of London. With farmlands above and a beautiful lush forested area below, this location is far enough at the edge of London to feel like it’s removed from the hustle and bustle of busy city life, but is close enough to the conveniences and amenities that the heart of the city can bring. Located at the corner of Sunningdale Road East and Richmond Street, this neighborhood is close by to all of the incredible shopping and entertainment at Masonville.
Neighborhood
This small neighborhood is absolutely beautiful and tucked in away from the busyness of the city. It’s filled with large, shady mature trees and is surrounded by natural green space and farm lands. The houses are a mix of modern condo developments and stunning, unique single family homes. Most of those houses were built around the 1970s, with some newer ones in the mix as well. They each have an uncommon and distinctive exteriors that make for excellent curb appeal. A lot of these homes have generous sized properties.
While this neighborhood is entirely residential, it has easy and quick access to conveniences, necessities, and shopping, making this neighborhood an incredible location for families. The average list price in this area is in the mid to high $600,000s.

While there are no schools located directly within this neighborhood, there are still great options for Catholic schools, public schools, and french immersion schools that service this district. This area is also close to the University of Western Ontario and all affiliated University Colleges, while being far enough away that it’s not a student housing district.

For people who enjoy being around the beauty of nature, but enjoy the conveniences of city living, this neighborhood is an excellent option. It’s located so close to stretches of farmland and green space, and has multiple parks and forested areas close by.
The neighborhood has the beautiful and small Northcrest Park which has paths and green space that is begging for people to enjoy picnics and kicking or tossing around a ball on beautiful summer days. Heron Haven Park is another nearby park which has a play structure, paths, large, shady trees, and lots of green space to enjoy. Families with smaller kids will love that Plane Tree Park is close by. It has a playground with multiple, fun play structures, including a large “sea dragon” that is fun to climb on. Little kids could spend hours at this playground, enjoying the interactive fun. Plane Tree Park also has green space and a swing set. The Medway Valley Heritage North is also close by, which is an incredible protected environmentally significant area in London that is great for people who enjoy hiking through beautiful spaces. It has stunning trails with absolutely beautiful views.
Avid golfers will love the fact that Northcrest is just a short distance away from the beautiful Sunningdale Golf and Country Club and is also not a far drive from Llyndinshire Golf and Country Club.
Heading down into the city, Masonville is close by at Fanshawe Park Road and Richmond street. It has a couple of shopping plazas as well as CF Masonville Place. This area makes entertainment, home essentials, weekly errands, and dining out very convenient.
For entertainment, shopping in Masonville Mall is a great way to spend an evening or weekend. Catching a movie at the luxurious SilverCity movie theater is great for family night, date night, hanging out with friends, or just relaxing alone. The Rec Room is another great place to be entertained with lots of arcade games, virtual reality games, axe throwing, and even fun Trivia Nights!
You can shop for the home in one location without needing to drive all over London. This area has Best Buy, Staples, Michaels, Pier 1, Home Sense, Sleep Country, Dollarama, JYSK, and Shoppers Drug Mart. Other conveniences in this area include, Bulk Barn, Farm Boy, LCBO, The Beer Store, Loblaws, banks, gas stations, Canada Post, Goodlife Fitness, PetSmart, Indigo, The UPS store, and hair salons.
For dining out options, Beertown Public House, Five Guys, Jack Astor’s, The Keg, Richies, Nandos, Three10, and The Shed and the many choices in the mall’s food court are sure to keep any food lover satisfied for brunch, lunch, and dinner.
