Kensal Park

Location

Kensal Park is just Southwest to the core of London. It’s right between Wonderland and Wharncliffe, and runs along Springbank Drive. The area is a family-friendly neighborhood close to the Thames River biking trails, is surrounded by lots of green space, and is also close to a water treatment center. It’s a quick and easy drive to downtown and is also a short drive to the Wonderland and Oxford commercial area. Springbank Drive is lined with great restaurants and businesses, and there is a commercial plaza at Springbank Drive and Kernohan Parkway.

Neighborhood

This mature neighborhood is has a lot of older post-war homes, mostly bungalows. There are also townhouses and a couple of apartment buildings in this area as well. Houses in Kensal Park are incredibly affordable, making it a great location for people who love being close to parks, people who work downtown, and young families. The homes boast large trees and big front yards.

The proximity and easy drive to downtown London is one of the biggest perks of living in Kensal Park. Catching a play at the Grande Theatre, enjoying an evening at the Budweiser Gardens, shopping the unique local boutiques, strolling through Victoria Park, enjoying delicious meals at incredible restaurants, and living up the nightlife at clubs, bars or pubs are all just a quick drive, a cheap uber, or a short bus ride away. And if you work downtown, there are great bike paths through the parks that can get you from the Kensal Park neighborhood to downtown that will get you there quick while being far away from traffic.

Another incredible part of Kensal Park neighborhood is nature. The Thames River runs along it, which has beautiful views, supports vegetation, and draws a ton of wildlife. Deer can almost always be spotted in the lush hills of the Woodland Cemetery. The Greenway Off Leash Dog Park is a wonderful place to bring your canine and watch them run around the wide open space. The Coves are an Environmentally Significant Area that has lots of wildlife, walking trails, and beautiful views. Kensal Park is a great place for families as it has two play structures, soccer fields, baseball diamond, and paths that connect it to the Thames Valley Parkway, which runs along the Thames River.

There are lots of great stores around to make everyday errands and household shopping more convenient such as, Shoppers Drug MartFood BasicsDollarama, banks, Style 360, and Giant Tiger are all in the area.
