Hale Street District

Location

The Hale Street District neighborhood is located in Southeast London. It actually used to be part of the Pottersburg neighborhood, but in 1912 it was separated into its own neighborhood. Hale Street runs through the center of this neighborhood. The boundaries of this neighborhood run up to Dundas Street and down to Trafalgar Street, and range from Highbury Avenue to the borders of Kiwanis Park.

The houses were built from the early 1900s to the 1970s.

The Trinity United Church and Community Centre is one of the neighborhood’s major landmarks on Hale Street. It hosts many of the neighborhood’s events. London’s first major roundabout, the Charley Fox Memorial Overpass, is also located in this neighborhood, on the southern edge.

Hale Street District is part of the Argyle Community Association. The association’s aim is to look out for the best interests of the residents of the neighborhood and increase the quality of life of those living there.
