Location
Chelsea Green is a smaller neighborhood that is part of Central London. It’s located just Southeast of the core of London. The top boundary line follows the Thames River and the bottom boundary line follows Thompson Road. Adelaide Street runs right through it. It’s a unique neighborhood that has a mix of beautiful older homes and stunning new builds, with everything in between as well. Its location gives this neighborhood quick and easy access to downtown.
Neighborhood
This neighborhood is a residential neighborhood that has a large mix of houses in terms of types, styles, ages, and sizes. The oldest of the houses date back to the 1800s with the newer houses being built within the last decade. Because the size, age, and type of houses differ so greatly within this neighborhood, it has a large range of price points. The cost of these houses range from the $200,000s all the way up to the $900,000s. As for types of homes, the majority are single detached homes. There are also three story walk-ups, row housing, and even small apartment buildings. Many of the apartments are located in apartment complexes. Some of the homes that are up near the Thames River have walkouts that overlook the river. Chelsea Green Neighborhood Association looks out for the best interest of the residents of the neighborhood, and works to contribute towards a positive and caring community. They have a closed Facebook Group that is for people in the neighborhood only and they also have a monthly newsletter that they print and deliver to most of the households within the neighborhood.
Schools
Princess Elizabeth is located just on the other wide of Thompson Road, making it within walking distance for a large part of this neighborhood. Other than that, there are a number of different schools that this neighborhood falls into the district of, including French Immersion, Public, and Catholic. The Wheable Adult Education Centre is also located within this neighborhood.Elementary

Chelsea Green is a great neighborhood because it feels tucked away from the busy parts of the city, despite having so many great amenities being so accessible. Within the neighborhood there is the Luna RX Guardian Pharmacy, gas stations, and even variety stores, which are super convenient places to grab the everyday necessities. Island Flavor is a delicious restaurant within walking distance of this neighborhood that serves Jamaican food. There is also Chelsea Green Children’s Centre in this neighborhood, making it a great option for those who need childcare and would like something close by.
There is a large commercial and shopping area close by to Chelsea Green. It’s located at Wellington and Commissioners. It has FreshCo, Shoppers Drug Mart, a Canada Post office, Fitness Avenue, Montanas, Starbucks, Pet Valu, Metro, banks, Dollarama, Cora Breakfast and Lunch, East Side Mario’s, McDonald’s, The Mandarin, cell phone shops, and more.
Of course downtown is just a quick drive away as well. Downtown has incredible restaurant options such as The Tasting Room, The Works, Toboggans, Abruzzi, and The Church Key. It also has incredible entertainment at the multiple escape rooms, The Grande Theatre, Budweiser Gardens, Imagine Cinemas London, and at the bars throughout downtown that have events such as open mic nights, karaoke nights, bingo nights, wine and paint nights, and so much more. Downtown is also great for nightlife, whether you’re looking for clubs, bars, or pubs. When it comes to shopping, nothing in the city matches the unique boutique experience of shopping downtown London.
Chelsea Green is a unique neighborhood for those who enjoy being active. Spike’s Indoor Beach Volleyball is within walking distance in this neighborhood. It’s a great way to stay active in the colder months while playing a sport that you love. They offer drop in times, host league volleyball, and even accommodate birthday parties, school trips, and corporate events. London Sports Park is also part of this neighborhood. It’s a large arena that hosts multiple leagues and tournaments, as well as offers the facility to rent.
There are also a number of amazing parks within the neighborhood to keep you active and enjoying the great outdoors during the warmer months of the year. Chelsea Green Park has a large soccer field. Thompson Road park has a beautiful nature trail that is great for family walks.
Vauxhall Park has smaller baseball diamonds, a playground, swing set, picnic tables, washrooms, and a paved walking/biking path. The Thames Valley Parkway is also accessible through this neighborhood. It goes all over London and is a great biking path for those who enjoying cycling, as well as a great running and walking path.
