Blackfriars

Location

Blackfriars is a quaint neighbourhood tucked in the southwest end of London, Ontario. It is located conveniently between the Thames River and downtown London. This area of town is home to notable heritage sites, and for this reason, Blackfriars is a London treasure. Just a ten-minute walk away, the proximity to downtown London is favourable to younger and social homebuyers. On the west side of this neighbourhood is Blackfriars Bridge, Canada’s last standing wrought-iron, bow-string truss bridge. As of November 2017, the bridge was disassembled and is in the process of being restored offsite in a $8m project. Labatt Memorial Park is also located within Blackfriars. This is unique to the neighbourhood and the city, as it is the world’s oldest baseball diamond and the home of the London Majors. Social and young professionals, university students and baseball lovers from all walks of life make perfect candidates to reside in this historic end of town.
