This week we are down at Forked River Brewing Company, talking to one of the three co-founders, Dave Reed. This brewery is located at 45 Pacific Court, Unit #4 London, Ontario and the doors have been open since 2013. Since then, they have gained a fantastic reputation in the Forest City and surrounding area. This brewery produces a wide range of beer. From ales, pilsners, stouts, IPA’s, wheat beers and lagers, there is no lack of variety. Head down to their location and take advantage of their eight beers on tap to taste before you buy, or check out the local LCBO or Beer Store for their selection of brews.
The owners of Forked River are more than just three guys who love a good beer. Combined, they have a masters of science, microbiology, biochemistry and professional engineering background. This works to their benefit, as their passion lies in the process of making the beer, and not just the end product. From crushing the grains to packing the bottles, cans and growlers, the entire process is executed at the brewery. There are currently more than thirty standard operating procedures in place. By maximizing quality control, it provides a piece of mind to the owners. Their beer, that is free of preservatives, fillers and additives and is unpasteurized, is going to stay fresh sitting unrefrigerated on the shelves in the stores. Whether you are looking for an easy-drinking beer or to expand your palate, give David, Andrew and Steven a visit! David recommends trying the Golden Chard and The Oracle brews. With higher-than-normal ABV and a sharp sourness to offset acidity, these beers will simultaneously surprise and satisfy your taste buds. Sour beer seems a little too strange? The Mojo, with an ABV of 4.6% and light notes of rhubarb, has been coined the “patio pounder” for a good reason; you will finish drinking it feeling refreshed and familiarly satisfied. Sounds like the perfect summer beer! Thanks for tuning in to this week’s segment of #BusinessOfTheWeek and check out Forked River Brewing Company for some delicious beer every time.
